The Beyt was the residential retreat and a semi-public office for Ayatollah Moosavi Ardebili, the former Chief Justice of Iran. Drawing inspiration from Tabriz’s rich architectural legacy while catering to contemporary needs, Beyt offers a unique experience that respects the past while embracing the present.
The intricately designed domed lobby serves as a dynamic communal space, promoting cultural dialogue and facilitating religious discourse among the local community. Above, the residential floors are enveloped in a cohesive brick facade, echoing Tabriz’s architectural heritage. Each residence is connected to private enclosed courtyards, ensuring ample natural light, ventilation, and privacy for occupants.
The building’s red brick facade and intricate Islamic artifacts allow it to seamlessly integrate into the historical context and adhere to local design codes. As a result, Beyt creates a harmonious addition to the urban landscape while paying homage to Tabriz’s storied architectural tradition.
